German Counsel (Inaudible )
Narrator Prisoner Schacht , Seyss-Inquart , von Papen , Dönitz , and the rest of the twenty are led by Hermann Göring . On trial for their lives, they seem less than supermen, especially Rudolf Hess , who at first tried to persuade Allied doctors that he is insane. Britain's Lord Justice Lawrence addresses the defendants.
Justice Lawrence The defendants are to plead guilty or not guilty to the charges against them. They will proceed in turn to the, to a point in the dock opposite to the microphone. Hermann Wilhelm Göring .

Narrator United States Supreme Court Justice Robert H. Jackson opens the prosecution's case.
Justice Robert H. Jackson The privilege of opening the first trial in history for crimes against the peace of the world imposes a grave responsibility. The wrongs which we seek to condemn and punish have been so calculated, so malignant and so devastating, that civilization cannot tolerate their being ignored because it cannot survive their being repeated. That four great nations, flushed with victory and stunned with injury, stay the hand of vengeance and voluntarily submit their captive enemies to the judgment of the law is one of the most significant tributes that power has ever paid to reason.
Narrator Documented in full from thousands of sources and attested too in the blood and suffering of millions, the case of the United Nations against Nazi Germany's leaders moves ahead.
